Our Present
We are pleased to report that in the past two years we have restored the entire main floor of the house, returning the rooms to their original splendor. Last spring we constructed a beautiful gazebo on the property. We continue to move forward in our restoration of the house and the development of beautiful gardens.
Volunteers are important to us. The West Linn Lions Club has been a continuous contributor of labor and financial support for us for many years. Local high school students have done community service hours here. Correction workers have done many large landscaping projects for us.
Our Future
You, the citizens of our community are the future of the McLean House. Your love of history could help tell the story of the Native American Indians who lived on the banks of the Willamette River, of pioneer settler Robert Burns who built a home on this spot or the story of Dr. Edward McLean who built the current 17 room home overlooking the Willamette River. A love of old houses or the desire to “decorate” could be fulfilled by joining our restoration committee. Fundraising and grant writing skills are always needed. If you have a green thumb we have a place for you.
